Nice article, did not know about the "nofollow".
But about the "word verification", will this prevent trackbacks?
BTW, I am using wordpress 2.0 with "Akismet" and it works great. I never got a spam going through, and I enjoy a lot going to the admin spam interface and click on "Delete all" (even if I do not have to do it, since they are never displayed anyway).
Wordpress 2.0 Rocks!
